54 years of age had heart attack and replaced 2 stents. Doctor said, sugar hba1c 14 and 459 dl. You are diabetic, that is why you had heart attack. After 10 months keto diet but not strictly, now hba1c 6.0 and 105 dl. Lost 55 lb. My heart pumping rate went up from %55 to %65. No carbs, no sugar, no fruits, no refined foods. Now i feel way better than my last 25 years.

My doctor said I would die of a heart attack from low carb, I then ignored her instructions, refused to take prescribed statins, got on keto and lost 75 lbs in a year.

I went Keto at age 57. I lost 150lbs. I went from 321lbs to 170lbs and have maintained it for over 2 years. I got rid of my severe fatty liver. But, this past December my blood pressure went to 90/40. I was diagnosed with severe aortic insufficiency and needed my Aortic Valve replaced. When the surgeon replaced my aortic valve it had a 4-5mm hole in a leaflet (it was also bicuspid instead of tricuspid). I’ve been Keto all through recovery and have recovered fast. When they performed a heart catheterization on me my coronary arteries were clean. My lipids on Keto have improved immensely. They currently are: Total Cholesterol = 169 Triglycerides = 42 HDL = 64 VLDL = 9 LDL = 96 Keto had nothing to do with my bad valve. My valve was congenitally defective, plus had a hole in it due to endocarditis.

Keto carnivore for 1 year, is lessened my depression, fatigue, fibomyalgia, MS and Alzheimer symptoms. Got off my medications, energy levels are steady and so much more. Once you go keto it’s hard to go back!!

3 years on ketovore and 2 months on carnivore now. Fixed all of my diabetes, gout, and BP. A1c 5.6, avg BP 117/72, hdl 50, ldl 98 and trigs 53. Of course my cardiologist was pushing statins. I say was because I fired him.
  • Doctors are so stuck on taking saturated fats as the villain, although it has been proven that triglcerides from carbs are the actual culprit

Many industries force their experts to re-certify or upgrade their skills on a regular basis and the fact that doctors don't know the effects of diet is evidence that this needs to happen in the medical fields as well. I got lucky, my cardiologist wanted to prescribe more meds but my endocrinologist agreed with my plan to go keto and actually encouraged IF. Two years later and I'm still down 75lbs, off all my meds and feeling great.
  • Actually I want to be a Skinny Corpse when I die rather than a Fat one. We’re all going to die and I want the rest of my life to be healthy and not bedridden at the end of it.
  • I am glad about your conclusion....I am 53 and was diagnosed with pre diabetes 6.5 a1c and 316 lbs. That was 10 months ago. After listening all clips on YouTube from Dr Ekberg and Dr Berry I did keto / carnivore / low carb diet. Now I am 94 lbs down and my a1c is down to 5.4. Cholesterol was cut in half and is just in high normal range now. Triglycerides cut in half and in normal range.......it's been one year now and reached 101 lbs weight loss.....30 more to go and I have my weight back when I was 28....
  • Since November 2020 I've lost 155lbs, on low carb high fat keto and intermittent fasting. I'm 59, off my blood pressure meds, my osteoarthritis pain is so much better I'm able to be very active again and my asthma is gone. I feel better now that when I was in my 40's. I'm so thankful! Thanks for all you do! 😊🙏
  • What everyone gets wrong when talking "high fat diet" is assuming you add tons of fat on top of the tons of processed carbs. So yeah, high fat, high carb is bad. But high fat LOW carb is good.
  • Keto fixed my heart and blood pressure problems that I had had since I was 25 years old!!
  • When I see Ken Berry or Sean Baker drop dead from cvd I might start to worry. Till then I will mostly ignore mainstream medicine diet recommendations.

If I have to convince or train my doctor, I'd rather get a new doctor.

All conventional cardiologists think I am killing myself w/ keto diet. Told by 1 that a patient that lowers cholesterol w/ statins is healthier than 1 doing it w/ diet alone. Told current 1 my LDL is high because of keto diet. He lost his mind. He is the foremost expert on lipidemiolist in state, & I am a moron that believes everything I read on the Internet. Wants me on statins. Told him no. All I need do is adjust keto diet. Told me I'm nuts. Can't do it. 3 mo. later, bloodwork showed I cut TG's in half & > HDL by 12 pts. Asked him if any other patient has ever done this? Of course, answer was no. Had to eat it & admit he was wrong. Only use him so insurance cover bloodwork I want done.

My name is Bawa, 67 years old. 2 heart attacks and 3 stents Fatty liver. Sugar blood pressure, cholesterol were all there, vision decreased, kidney. Spoiled, had high sugar, cholesterol and pressure, all normal after 6 years of keto diet, Eng: Habeeb rahman sir introduced me to keto.
  • @magicf7076
Mainstream doctors will never change on this subject, because if they promote a keto/carnivore diet, they will loose their license.
  • @REDJR22
It may make me a skinny corpse, after adding 15 years to my life!
  • @AzaleaBee
"You'll end up a skinny corpse." I have been told that in regards to fasting. Educating myself and learning by experience helped me to better articulate the science which has put my loved ones at ease. Finally!

Whole foods plant based diet blew my lipid panel into the stratosphere. Triglycerides to 500mg/dL. LDL-C to 140mg/dL. Trigs on keto dropped to 45mg/dL and LDL-C to ~100mg/dL. I'm not even a cholesterol / Apo(B) particle causality denier, but from my own experience, the standard of care dietary advice is total crap. The whole field is irredeemable and should be disbanded.
