Before Steph Curry ever shot a 3 pointer off the dribble, there was another player blazing a trail on the basketball court. If you don't remember Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, it's a shame, since he did all the things Curry can do, only to be black balled and out of the NBA for taking a principled and justified stance. Find out how good he was and what happened.

5:53 broke my mans so bad that he stumbled into his teammates hands

When Phil Jackson made this comparison, i immediately said it was spot on even though many people said Jackson was trippin. Rauf was an absolute scoring beast who was blackballed for standing up for himself and his beliefs. Not to mention he was battling with tourette's syndrome.

Remember when people killed Phil Jackson for this comparison?

I used to watch him all the time growing up in Colorado, so it moves my heart to see you do a video on my guy Mahmoud. I'm still mad about how they blackballed him like that, it's disgusting

This guy was the real deal, I seen him play at LSU and plenty of NBA games, crazy handles, quick as a hiccup, Dead Eye Shooter! And was also good on defense, was 3rd or better in steals, check his stats, he was all that. Since High school, he has been the real deal! Much respect!

I guess the only way you could get people to notice him is to call him “the original Stephen curry”

Amazing story coach, heard this guy's name but never knew he got black balled like that. This man's the OG Kaepernick, glad he's doing well.
  • I met the late Bison Dele just before he passed thru to Spirit. He came to our local Gym in Byron Bay to play pick up. As a former teammate of Abdul Raufs he could not stop raving about how AMAZING he was. He said he was the best shooter he had ever seen. Great video. Thanks mate
