Seizing The Day

Published 2013-09-05
A story about my discovery, loss and rediscovery of books, reading and the joy of words. // All told from the perspective of a lazy seizure-prone silly little boy. // Enjoy! // :)

Hey it's Alice :) I always loved books and read a lot but it wasn't until 6th form when I did an English Literature A level that I really developed a passion for novels, mostly because of my teacher Mr Matthias. He taught me how to read, not in the literal sense, but how to squeeze every last detail from the story and appreciate it on so many more levels. It was probably Dracula by Mary Shelly that first made me fall in love with this art form because the book is quite simply, brilliant.

I love teachers that can do that. // My drama teacher really made me love drama, then turned out to be a paedophile which was a shame really because I was fond of him for the most part. // I bought Dracula the other day and am looking forward to reading it as the days get shorter, darker and colder. // :)
