This is it. After half a year's worth of anxious waiting, silence and burnouts, I've finally gathered myself back to this project at full force. And what better way to make a return than giving people a taste of what's been done, and just in time to wrap up this year's Sonic Amateur Games Expo?

----DEMO---

The first ever public demo of Sonic - Project Hero is out NOW!

Reminder that there's a public Sonic: Project Hero Discord server! The link's up there in the description.

This looks like someone married the Adventure style and the boost gameplay. I’m in love
  • @theivace9705
Really making use of those trees I liked so much.
  • @Jarbloko
Me to sega: "tony stark was able to build this in a cave with a box of scraps!!!!!"
  • @Squishito
Oh my god Knuckles can do a wall dash thing! I have always wanted that to be a thing! You absolute madman!!
  • @it4040
If I'm ever going to learn how to make stages for a Sonic fangame, this is the engine (okay, framework) I want to start from.

I've played it and it has completely blown me away! Surprisingly it was able to run smoothly on my crappy pc which is pretty great. I love how well crafted their playstyles are! Knuckles even has a lower jump like in Sonic 3 to encourage a different approach to platforming! The characters all feel different and have their own unique playstyles and abilities to master but all still would fit in the same levels just like the classics which is outstanding! Levels would be insanely replayable and rewarding thanks to the gameplay. I love Tails' bomb thing, I thought it was weird at first but I quickly noticed the potential it had and it really works. You can do some crazy stuff and it's all really fun. I also love the effort put into the enemies, they're fun to defeat, can pose an actual threat and can even be used to gain momentum. Not to mention they're animated really well, all the animations look great. There's even a mechanic where Sonic and Knuckle's mouths switch to whatever side you're looking at them from, which made me smile like an idiot when I saw it. This has to be my favorite 3D Sonic project I have ever seen, the hard work and polish really shows. You have an excellent grasp of game design and I can't wait to see whatever you do next!

I can finally and proudly say... "This is the best 3d Sonic game" in terms of gameplay style
  • @naru2k4
I've been waiting a long time for this.
  • @fakezero546
There are a lot of Fangames that tries to emulate o replicate the formula of sonic adventure, but only this one i feel is a Fangame about momentum, i'm gonna download it right away!

This is what I've waited so long, game without boost in Adventure style. Not that I don't like boost games, but Adventure style is just prior to me due to more controls and more platforming on stages. In this demo controls are awesome. Sonic Team just must see this.

That's literally how I imagined a Sonic game somehow. I am in paradise

Shame my PC is a potato because I would love to play this. As of this point in time, this engine is the most polished and most official-looking fan engine I have ever seen. The best part is that you said you're going to design levels around it; usually the most disappointing part of engines like these is that people often just port Windy Valley or Westopolis to them and call it a day.

This is truly awesome. Everything is so fluid and bouncy, I love it! Awesome work!
