Great to hear some PNW history from a more First Nations perspective. Thanks!
-
The PNW natives had the highest population density of any indigenous peoples.
-
Excellent presentation. The stories of my people, and all the North American groups should be told....accurately and without revisionist history. Well done. Hope there is more to come about all indigenous/first nation peoples.

So interesting. I live 2200 +miles away south of Pacific northwest. The people her did not hunt the whales. The Pericue, Yaki, Seri, Guaycura, Lived off of fishing, clamming, and hunting the small Deer. My partners descendants were Pericue and Guaycura. And his Grandma was a Yaki. To date we continue to supplement our diet with the local food from the sea. We watch the Whales pass by on their way south every winter with admiration and awe.

The "purchase" of Nootka sound is sort of what the HBO show Taboo is based on. Really good show.
