Personally an album like this was something “new” back in 2004… hip hop’s community could have not been ready for it, but in the end everyone managed to recognize the genius of DOOM and Madlib in it, which was not taken for granted.

The beginning of America's most Blunted is what always gets me. At least 10 samples mixed together so fluently that they just flow. One of the only producers whose skits never get boring

i feel like filling in the gaps by just repeating the beginning of each bar was an obvious solution to the 3/4 time signature issue

you are doing it the hard way! he did this on a MPC! it's so fluid how he made them once you know where to chop. this is one of the albums that made me save up and buy one. i started with and still love FL, but some things are easier with tactile feedback. that being said, you did this so well, that i feel like i almost wasted my money. you're like a wizard with that daw, sir.

Great video!! Love seeing the technique of “fixing” the sample rhythm by putting the chops at the beginning of each bar instead of the end. Gonna keep that tool in mind the next few days 💪
  • You should do special documentary about the producers we have over the years, but like in a mid format like 20 minute video and in the end try to replicate and teach how each technique the producer uses! I can right away suggest starting with Kanye West. Keep the videos coming ❤

@2:20 when you explained that it was a 3 bar loop its actually 4 bars In the context of a 3/4 time signature, it is a 4 bar loop. In the context of a 4/4 time signature (like it is set up in your DAW) it is a 3 bar loop.❤
