I am now 80 years old and when I look over my life I realize that my faith in God and adherence to my deep rooted Christian principles, never wavering from my core beliefs, has ensured my well being all along the way.

I have learned from being in an abusive marriage, for almost 10 years, that silence is the best way to handle evil/angry, people. They want you to feed that demon of strife,by arguing with them. They literally get off,by upsetting you. They can't stand poised, calm, silence.😉
  • My mouth has always been a tool of destruction. I'm excited to learn a different way.
  • When my husband died, I found comfort in reminding myself that we didn't come to stay on earth & that he was no longer having to struggle to stay alive!🤔

That's great when necessary. Sometimes, it's not wise to be silent. There's a time for everything, including speaking up.

Silence is golden. I live in the saying, “THINGS THEY DON’T KNOW, THEY CAN’T RUIN”❤👍🏻
  • I have to say, I have been following this stoic journey but keeping my mouth shut is the hardest thing for me. I practice each day & fail at it

I have been following Stoicism for 9 months. Silent has strengthened my inner self with issues that happen every day. I see things differently, more calmy.

Silence is one way to deal with it but also can be harmful depending on the situation and person you are facing. There are times when stonewalling someone is more harmful than good and shows a great deal of immaturity and unwillingness to come to an understanding. Use silence judiciously, not as a “one size fits all” solution.

I discovered Stoicism recently and am already 100 PERCENT on board. Especially in today's toxic, divisive, "I have the answer" world, we all NEED this and it's therapeutic.
