Actually, it's theorized that Mary Poppins is a Time Lord; she has a traveling bag that is substantially larger on the inside, she wears a bow tie (which is Cool), her umbrella is something of a TARDIS (bit of a stretch, that), she's elusive, mysterious, refuses to "explain anything," and can speak to animals. Now with Emily Blunt taking over, we know Mary Poppins can regenerate...

My favorite line in "Cars" is when Mac finds Lightning, and says, "Thank The Manufacturer you're okay!"

In the original book, we see that all the children actually SURVIVE and Wonka didn't kill them. And Roald Dhal also said that he hated the first film in an interveiw.

I think the theory of Mary Poppins being the same type of creature as Pennywise is possible. Though I think that it’s kinda like a good one evil one situation. They both disappear for about 27-30 years (Mary Poppins Returns furthered my suspicion) and their main audience is children. I also notice they both can mess with reality to create things like dolphins in bathtubs or burning hands pushing through a door, but I notice how Mary Poppins only creates happy creations while Pennywise only creates disturbing creations. I think Mary Poppins gets her power through joy which would explain her interest in helping children with their problems while Pennywise gets his power through fear. Mary Poppins goes out of her way to make her creations as joyful and magical as possible to get the most amount of joy to feed off of while Pennywise tries to be as scary as possible to get the most amount of fear to feed off of. So I think they’re the same type of entity but Mary Poppins is the good one and Pennywise is the evil one. So I agree with your theory, but I shift more to the opinion that they are simply the same type of entity, not the same person.

Well, that fly scene is obviously a nod to the original 1958 movie "The Fly" where the scientist who merged with the fly is trapped in a spider web, with the body of a fly but the head and arm of a human, who screams "Help me! Help me!" as the spider crawls closer and closer. Conversely, the scientist character has the head and left arm of a fly. It's pretty darn creepy, and much less gruesome than the remake in the 80s.

Don’t forget that Hook is blamed for the death of Ariel’s mother

Fun fact: in the original Peter Pan book, instead of taking Wendy and the other kids home, he just locks the windows to make the kids think they were unloved (I think)

Kevin is just a kid trying to protect himself from the bad guys as the traps are made of things someone would use. Plus Kevin's hallucinations are caused by stress by the criminals trying to get in

Problem with Willy Wonka theory - if you read the book (and I believe they fixed this omission in the Johnny Depp version), Charlie sees the other kids leave the factory. Violet is still blue but no longer round, Veruca is covered in garbage, Mike is stretched, and I can't remember but I think Augustus is just covered in chocolate.

The theory that Jar-Jar was intended to be a Sith in disguise would've been a very clever twist. Him willingly choosing to play as a bumbling ally to manipulate events and corrupt Anikin to the Dark Side is a surprising way to add in a twist villain. Take a look at Professor Quirrell from Harry Potter as an example. I'm sure a lot of people didn't expect that he was only pretending to be a timid man to find the Philosopher's Stone for Voldemort.

I once thought that it wasn't Wonka who was the bad guy but the Oompah's and it's more trauma than just being bad. I believe they were shunned from society and Wonka welcomed them with open arms but they got furious when he decided to open his doors to the public because it was their sanctuary where they could just be themselves. Not wanting people invading their home, they were the ones who told Wonka to show them certain parts of the factory because they had manipulated those areas to be harmful to the children. That's why in the 2nd movie, all the kids leave as "weirdos", now they'll stand out like the Oompah's did and become outcasts too.

You forgot the theory about Mary Poppins being a Time Lord!
  • Im convinced Mary Poppins is a Time Lord/Lady. She has a bag thats bigger on the inside and she regenerated from Julie Andrews to Emily Blunt.

Wait this would ruin entire life because I'm still a child 10 years old

The Harry Potter theory could only have been made by someone who was not paying attention at all. Harry Potter himself became a horcrux.. Hints why in order for Voldemort to be defeated, Harry had to be defeated as well.. And he did die. He came back because of a specific magical item he had.
  • That Mary Poppins theory is quite interesting. And leads me to think.. what if there are more characters that do similar things, and could be the same entity? Like rumplestiltskin-esque creatures. I mean, every magic DOES have a price.
  • @frankbauerful
Actually the donkey is a fairy tale creature from one of Grimm's fairy tales. The "Gold-Ass" can shit out gold pieces on command. No joke. That's actually in the fairy tale.
  • The thing about the Harry Potter theory is that technically Voldemort did kill Harry but Voldemort himself took most of the killing curse Dumbledore did say that Harry could move on to the afterlife if he wanted.
