From Paralysis To Finding Your Inner Gold. The Ride It Out Show // Episode 5

Published 2023-04-02
In the fifth episode of the ride it out series, we have the privilege of speaking with Karen Darke, an adventurer, Paralympian, and author.

Karen's journey is one of resilience, determination, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing significant challenges, including a life-changing accident that left her paralysed from the chest down, Karen has not only adapted to her new reality but has thrived in it.

She has climbed some of the world's most challenging mountains, completed an enormous handcycle ride across the Himalayas, and won multiple medals in Paralympic cycling. Karen is also the author of two books which document her experiences as an adventurer and the lessons she has learned along the way.

In this episode, Karen shares her insights on resilience, the power of the human spirit, and the importance of setting goals and pushing beyond your limits. She talks about finding inner gold and checking in on your own SIM card and how that could be applied to anyone, but particularly those facing tough times.
