As a czech, Im proud of people like Janek & Honza!
  • @maniesh
Is it really a coincidence that so many scammers and politicians look alike?
  • @MartinBaltuhin
As a bulgarian, i am ashamed of the scammers you find. They are the same here. Keep doing what you do!
  • @Bort.
As a romanian, I’m ashamed that I share my country with some of these money scammers. They misrepresent our beautiful country and that’s why we are known as thieves and less known for nice things.

25 years ago, I encountered Angry Grandpa (I'm 95% sure it was him) in the Prague metro. He claimed to be a plain-clothes inspector of the public transportation, showed me a silly charm trinket in the cup of his hand as if that was somehow legitimizing him, and he claimed that I had bought the wrong ticket and that I needed to pay a fine and buy a different ticket. Little did he know that I wasn't just the passing through backpacker, but I was on my 30th trip to Prague, so I told him in Czech to crawl back to the piča he came from, and that I knew very well which ticket I needed and that I wasn't going to show him my ticket, nor where I keep my money. He got very upset and abusive (I guess I lead him on, but I was right and he wasn't hahaha). When I got off, I informed the DPP office and they said I did the right thing sending him away.

"I'm not your friend. I'm your trouble". That goes hard.
  • @MaciekPiekarski
The guy who sacrificed three hours of his life to report Orange Vest to the police is a legend! (Janek and Honza are too but we kinda got used to that already)
  • @Drunktopus
Thanks! Not all heroes wear capes. Stay safe out there guys.
  • @vikkran401
You and Honza are the real-life counterparts of Batman and Robin and I can't appreciate enough what you guys do and the amazing service you two have done for humanity. I wish you guys the best and keep up the amazing work!
  • @danielmuller2701
You are so brave for confronting them. There's enough encounters that show that it would only take a little bit to escalade.
  • @stephen-6751
I'm sorry that my country (Romania) is representing these people. 😢

Love your videos Janek and Honza! I visited Prague 2 years ago because of your videos and it trully was worth it. Your videos really do justice to your city, with all the travel tips and hidden gems that you recommend! As for the scammers, it's such a pity that most major European counties don't do enough to fight this type of crime. It's the same story here in Athens, people will scam you/rob you, they will get arrested and then be released later the same day. This "guide" was really fun to watch and it shows how much effort you put for Prague's good. Take care and be carefully around all these people. Wish you all a happy new year!

A couple days ago I was in Prague (lovely city) and by Exchange8 there was a new money scammer that I hadn't seen here. Around 1.60m, old, round and looks like a happier "Polish guy". Asked what country we're from first, then wanted to exchange money at a "better rate". Saved some other tourists from him as well that were waiting there.
  • @furquannn
what I don't understand is, why would people go for these shady exchanges with a random guy on a street? If it's about better exchange rate, why not just pay by cards? It's traveling 101 that you DON'T make unofficial money exchanges with random people on the street :(
  • @ycrep1993
I imagine for the ex cop going to the police station in another country was some kind of tourist attraction anyways 😂
  • @TheGgg22
Pretty shocking that the police just does nothing about it
  • @charlestims1851
Dear Honza and Janek, I very much appreciate your courage and endurance. You should be on the government payroll for the work you do for improving reputation of Prague and the country of yours.
  • @Pointon1993
I’ve been watching all your videos for the past 18 months (and the older videos too) and since I discovered this channel I’ve been to Prague twice in 2023. Amazing work, every city needs a channel like this!
  • @123vamsee
Hey Man, You are doing a great work. Because of these scammers innocent tourists loose money and also their vacation is ruined. Lots of love and respect to you.
