EL DORADO ROYALE & EL DORADO CASITAS - RESORT REVIEW

In this video I share my review staying at the El Dorado Casitas & the El Dorado Royale. Both resorts are adults only all inclusive resorts in Riviera Maya. You stay at one and play at all three resorts, including Generations, the family friendly resort. These are gourmet all inclusive resorts offering 20 restaurants bars and lounges. The food is some of the best that I've had at any resort!

We've been members in this chain of resorts that are located in Mexico, Jamaica and other places since 2007 and every time i am in awe on how beautiful and perfect this place is. About the outdoor shower....i overpay thousands of dollars, each time, to book in specifically in Casitas, just so i can get that outdoor shower.... that shower is to die for...i don't care for the room...but that outside shower......i don't have enough words to even begin to describe the feeling that i get when i take a shower outside especially at night when you can see the stars...and NO ONE will see you, excepts heaven...i can go on and on just about everything in this resort from service, food, entertainment, the length of the beach, the number of beds on the beach and pool areas and through the whole resorts, and etc. About seaweed on the beach, like i already mentioned it before, we go here A LOT and sea weed is there very rare, it will show up, usually, after some sort of hurricane that water brings it that way, but for that reason they have a natural pool that never has seaweed. My only issue is, only in Mexico, is corrals ,when you walk into the water, there is a lot of corrals. They have spent millions of dollars to fix this issue and it will take years before we see results. Another words, you have to see it for yourself. :)
  • Hello and welcome to paradise. I've been an ET member for 15 years and love EDR/EDC. As for your room, I always stay in the Building 28. I LOVE it there. Close to all the action. I highly recommend this property to any of your clients.

My husband and I are traveling this Jan 31st - Feb 6th. Is it too late to book a travel agent for this resort?

$10 additional for Fuentes?! We had to pay about $70 (don't remember if per person or for the couple) back in 2020!

I want to say I'd go back there in a heartbeat, but this resort has the absolute worst beach I have ever encountered absolutely anywhere in the world. The only conditionally swimmable patch was at Generations, and it was the size of a footprint of a small house. The beaches for all three resorts are so rocky that all the many tons of sand they brought in to "insulate" the boulders were washed off into the ocean, and the sea there is so violent that I got knocked over and almost broke my limbs on those huge, sharp yet slippery rocks when I tried to venture in to swim - _once_. The winds make the waters quite violent: there are not one but two rows of huge concrete wave breakers, and the splatter against them has been about 1.5-2 human heights the entire 2 weeks we were there (January '20). So, if you don't care about the beach, by all means, the resorts are GORGEOUS, and the food is excellent and even relatively allergy-safe (at least if you are gluten-free), the pools are great, the spa absolutely luxurious - just don't get into the ocean.

Was there any entertainment here? Besides the food show. Entertainment at pool or in evenings? Enjoy your video reviews!! 😊 Thank you!
  • It is certainly quite difficult to rejuvenate, and to get that romance back, as you mention, when their construction management team allow chainsaws and hammering to go on from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Casitas areas, with no concern for their guests comfort to allow them to sleep in, or that they might have come to the resort to escape the constant construction noises in their home city. 4 diamonds does not mean they respect your dollars spent for some peace of mind.
