I loved learning that their relationship was canon. Would've been super interesting to see them develop the storyline.

I do see the flirtatious nature of Stevie and how Alex is drawn to her. I know the relationship never came into fruition BUT I can definitely see how that was the desire. I know Disney was not ready for that so from a story telling standpoint it would’ve bogged down the flow of the show if she was just an extra friend. Buuut if they did what they wanted and made them an item it would’ve kept the flow. Plus it’s Haley we’re talking about! Who better to cast?

To anyone who says that "they weren't really together and this is just the creators jumping on the diversity train years later": Keep in mind that these episodes came out in 2010. Gravity Falls came out two years later and ran throughout 2016. Disney refused, all the way up through 2016, to allow the cops to be a couple. They let them have exactly one scene in the finale saying they were into each other and that was it. They gave them a Korrasami moment and that was it. Do you really think a storyline in a Disney show released five years before Obergefell v. Hodges would EVER have the balls to depict a gay couple? We only just got Luz and Amity being a couple on a Disney Channel show and even THAT got shortened because the network decided to go in another direction.

If it makes you guys feel better. Stevie was apparently put back together and came back as human put sent to a wizard prison center offscreen. This was confirmed by the showrunners.

I think I like her ending up with Mason as endgame, but i really do wish Disney had let them date for a little bit, they would’ve been cute together

Idk I feel like characters that are too similar are boring as a couple. There’s no dynamic because they behave the exact same in any given situation. Stevie didn’t bring out any of the positive sides of Alex, and on,y encouraged her bad traits. They never would’ve worked. That’s not how real couples function.

They said Alex an Stevie would have made a couple, but Disney Channel and other kids networks were against gay relationships at the time

Honestly I'm on stevie's side the wizard competition is very stupid. Why train for years only to have your powers taken away and not even have your memory wiped? You will spend years hating yiur siblings usually
