The victims of a deadly plane crash at MacArthur Airport have been identified by their family as a couple from Virginia who was visiting friends on Long Island.

    The most dangerous time to lose engine power is the initial climb from takeoff. Options for landing are often quite limited. It may have seemed like the only choice in the moment to try to return.
