I showed a (fake) rock I have.
I explained that this rock is like us.
We are like a simple small rock in all of God's creation.
Yet God saw us and loved us and gave us meaning.
Now, we are sinful. Darkness engulfs our hearts because of sin.
But Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12)
Thanks to His sacrifice on the cross, we can be saved by believing in Jesus and repenting of our sins.
1 Corinthians 6:11 «And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.»
He and His light are inside of us of we abide in Him. (John 15:4)
Mark 4:21-23
«He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.”»
We, as christians, are supposed to be a light in this dark world.
Do we trurly love others if we don't share the truth to them? If we don't evangelize and warn them of the consequences of their sin so that they can ba saved?
Jesus fills us with His light. So we should be a light to others just like He was for us.
So I again say that we are like a little rock in the video, and then show that that rock lights up in the dark. It works like that by absorbing the light.
Just like we are filled by the light of Jesus and we become full of light in and to a world of darkness.
