My brother lives in Columbia and I saw this and wasn't able to reach him. I was freaking out. He finally texted a few minutes ago and he & his family are safe. God bless the people there!

This is a awful thing to happen to anyone. I feel sorry for the families of the ones that died and hurt.

I drove through the damage where the tornado crossed Bear Creek Pike and Kedron Rd in Columbia and Spring Hill respectively earlier today. The scope of the damage is hard to fathom in person. The thing that stands out was a metal utility pole that was bent at a 90° at about 4-6 feet above the ground. The amount of power that it takes to do that to a relatively thin item like that is hard to wrap one’s mind around.

God has sent us so many wonderful people to help those of us who lost everything. Blackburn lane was totally destroyed.
