The song reminds me of Jo in Little Women when she admits to Marmie that she's lonely and wants to be loved desperately. Both the song and the scene make me cry everytime.

This song hits so close to home. Anyone who is a hopeless romantic but never had a long lasting romance has looked up at the sky and asked "When will I get the love I've always dreamt of". You hold onto the faith and hope but you are scared that it might never happen to you. This song has so many emotions wrapped up that it's impossible to not cry everytime you hear it.

What makes Taylor different than some other singer/song writers is she tells the truth about things she has been through, no matter how awful or embarrassing...the sista tells it. A lot of us have gone through some of these same things in life, but are too afraid to talk about them. When we listen at Taylor's songs, I feel it gives us permission to speak about it to someone, anyone, it feels like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

I have never sobbed so hard/much listening to a song. I'm a guy btw... and everything about this song felt just so relatable... always pleasing others, seeing everyone fall in love, engaged and getting married, other taking love for granted, but when it comes to you.. luck has never been on ur side when it comes to love... Loneliness is a empty bumpy road. It felt personal to me.

She is the only celebrity in the world that knows how connect with her fandom on a deep and personal level and has masterd writing meaningfully complex lyrics that resonate with many. Truly artist of the decade. No question.
