  • Wonderful initiative by India Today to revisit the formation of the Constitution of India. The background stories, along with pictures, videos, interviews, and documentary clips make it even more interesting, engaging and relatable. The drafting of the book, regarded as the supreme law of the largest democracy in the world, was not only a mammoth task, but also, at the same time, a challenging one to make it a time-tested document. The initiative comes at a time, when, the significance of the rule book was once again brought to the fore by the opposition leaders, especially Rahul Gandhi, who waved the pocket edition frequently during campaigning and press conferences, at the time of general elections, using slogans like – “Constitution in crisis” and “Democracy in danger”. It was also noticeable when PM Modi paid his homage to the constitution during the NDA parliamentary party meeting at the Central Hall, after the elections. Looking forward to watching the entire series. These history lessons will enlighten us about our past, help us to take appropriate decisions in the present, and also, guide us towards a better future.

please dont forget to highlight the fact that the words "secular, socialist" was added to the preamble by force by indira gandhi during emergency, when she hijacked all her MPs and made them pass it thru parliament by blackmail.
