Ladies and gentlemen ... Nickelback is good, actually. It's about time somebody gave these guys some credit. With the amount of hits they have, the amount of songs we all sing along to (whether you will admit it or not), why are they so maligned? Why are they ~the worst band in the history of music~? I don't buy it. Let's talk.

  • I think implying that Linkin Park have anything to do with butt rock is much more of risky and hot take than the main idea of the video
  • @Hoopergames
I see big nickleback was able to get you with their propaganda smh
  • @OLDMANWAFFLES
Chad Kroger is the reason for the “look at this graph” meme, and so they’re good in my books.

My girlfriend took me to a concert just recently to see Nickleback! They were awesome and hilarious I had a great time and they stayed late playing 3 extra songs they loved playing still!!

Nickelback have some really great deep cuts. Side of a Bullet is actually a song about going back in time and trying to take revenge on the murderer of Dimebag Darrell from Pantera. They actually had permission to use Dimebag’s solo on that song, which I thought was super nice of Pantera to do. And their all time heaviest song Because of You is a straight up banger. And I’ve grown to like the cheesy hits, too; Rockstar I think, was a big influence on the bro country scene, except it doesn’t repulse me like Florida Georgia Line or Jason Aldean, or Blake Shelton, or any of those guys do.

To me, Nickelback are like Kenny G. The people that hate their guts are much more annoying than them.

I think that's the real deal. Nickelback really wasn't exactly original or new, but was the music that was played in the 2000's. A kind of genre of music that isn't on my playlist from hearing on my own, but the perfect band to have in a Karaoke Hits playlist and have some fun

Been a Nickelback fan since the release of Hero when I was 4 years old. Never looked back and glad more people are giving them props.

As a pretentious music enthusiast, sometimes I find it refreshing to just chill out from all the Radiohead, Deftones and Aphex twin and just listen to some classic pop hits that I remember from my childhood. One of my go to songs for these kind of moments are "the reason" by hoobastank (God, what a great band name). It's catchy, easy to listen to, and now with time, it becomes nostalgic. And yes, I know this video is talking about Nickelback in particular, but as a Malaysian, I've never been exposed to Nickelback as much as Americans and Canadians did. Though I definitely remembered hearing them once in a while on the radio, back then and even recently. But I think the point that I'm trying to make here is somewhat related to the topic. And that is that, sometimes it's good to take a break from our seriousness of music and just chill out for a moment...

So happy to see love for Nickelback. I've been a fan of theirs since How You Remind Me and still listen to them today. And YES! Finally someone on YouTube who gets the fun of Rockstar XD Thank you!
  • @RTAbram
I saw them at a music festival back when they were just starting to get big and they played a great set! I don't know if I'm a fan, but I'd go see them again just for their on-stage energy.
  • @bongs1995
Never understood the joke. Bumped these blokes hard in my teens. Only country rock band I listened to. The vocal always hit 🤌🏿
  • @BigOwl51
I listen to Nickelback more than any pre 2000s band, and I have no shame
  • @mclyde6266
I actually think of Hero and So Bad when I hear about Nickleback. I remember wondering why they stopped making songs like that and being confused when hearing their newer hits at the time, like photograph, thinking this can’t be the same band that made So Bad or Hero. Also their album Curb is never mentioned in these videos.
  • I feel extremely violated that Matchbox 20 was put in the same category as Creed and Nickelback (and I like all 3 bands)
  • @solo13th
Yesssssssss!! I can’t believe I’ve lived long enough to see the rehabilitation of Nickelback, I just hope I love long enough to see the same for Imagine Dragons.
  • @shroomyesc
I've always liked Nickelback but friends like to go "WTF you have nickelback on the playlist?" when I drive them around, when the song's halfway they go "Damn nickelback isn't that bad" lmfao. Now, I will say I don't like all their stuff but even some of their basic stuff like when we stand together and just to get high get me going.
  • @SamuraiMujuru
I haven't been a huge fan of their later stuff, but The State is a fantastic album, and I will die on that hill.
  • @jesuswalksforyou
thank you for making this video. theyve gotten way too much hate for way too long. i never hated them and i remember screaming like kroeger, singing karaoke, this is how you remind me
