(Full Flight Review) American Airlines A321 First Class Review

Published 2020-12-23
On October 20th, I took my first flight with American Airlines during the Pandemic. I haven’t flown American Airlines since 2018. I was supposed to fly on their Boeing 787-800 back in April, but I had to back down due to COVID-19. This flight was on one of American’s older A321’s that were handed over during the merge between US Airways and American back in 2013. This plane featured the new Oasis Retrofit. I found it to be rather comfortable.

Bravo! Your trip reports are enviably good, particularly given these trying times.

I've not flown during the pandemic, but we have a trip scheduled on American Airlines in March. I may try to take some footage as well. We're headed to SJU. It will actually be my first time flying in business class. Enjoyed the video!

I'm going to be flying American in first class in a few weeks from Denver to Dallas, same type of plane. I've heard it said that domestic First is a waste of money, but flying Economy makes me claustrophobic, the seats are so jammed together. I don't expect we will get much in the way of food, if any. One thing I was happy to hear is that American seems to have dropped the requirement that you get a covid test between domestic cities (have to confirm this). I assume we'll get temperature checked before we board. My daughter said this is what Frontier is doing now.
  • I'm scheduled to fly with them this may going to California first class hopefully the restrictions will be lifted a little more

I don’t know as yet if I would fly American first class. That’s why I selected your video. But I didn’t see any video of the cabin interior or seating quality or COVID conditions or challenges encountered. For me and maybe others food service might be secondary to cabin comfort on long flights.

Such mixed feelings, project oasis is an upgrade to these old Legacy US Airways planes that were so feature poor, but it is so sad they are down-featuring the much better legacy AA planes with in-seat entertainment as well.

Can you upgrade to first class at the airport for AA? It doesn’t say “first class” online. What is the average price? Thank you
