高知県のほぼ中心を流れる仁淀川は、西日本最高峰の石鎚山に源を発し、124kmに渡って土佐湾に流れ着く、四国3大河川の一つです。
国土交通省が発表する「水質が最も良好な河川」に過去10年で8回も選ばれています。
そのリゾート地の海辺を思わせるような透明度、エメラルドグリーンともターコイズブルーとも呼べるような「青」の美しさをネイチャーカメラマンの高橋宜之氏が「仁淀ブルー」と呼び始め、その名が知られていったと言われています。
一般的に、不純物の少ない透明な水は、光の波長が長い他の色を吸収してしまい、波長が短い青い光を反射するので、青く見えます。
仁淀川は、急峻な地形で流れが速く、不純物がとどまりにくいうえ、比較的水温が低くて藻が繁殖しにくいため、高い透明度を維持していると考えられます。
仁淀川アウトドアセンターは仁淀川最上流域、仁淀ブルーが最も綺麗な安居渓谷からの水が流れ込む場所でSUP・クリスタルカヤックの体験ができます。仁淀ブルーを間近で安心安全に体感できる最高のアクティビティを楽しめます。

The Niyodo River, which flows almost through the center of Kochi Prefecture, is one of the three major rivers in Shikoku, originating from Mt.
It has been selected as the "river with the best water quality" announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism eight times in the past 10 years.
Nature photographer Yoshiyuki Takahashi began to call it "Niyodo Blue" for its transparency that reminds us of the seaside of the resort area, and the beauty of the "blue" that can be called emerald green or turquoise blue, and the name is well known.
In general, clear water with few impurities absorbs other colors with longer wavelengths of light and reflects blue light with shorter wavelengths, so it looks blue.
The Niyodo River has a steep topography and a fast flow, which makes it difficult for impurities to stay in the river. In addition, the water temperature is relatively low, making it difficult for algae to grow.
