This was so sick! So glad Jmook is sponsored and in the scene. Really happy to see PPU yapping too
  • @RundasTheGreat
This was cool. Love the PPU/Jmook combo. Would certainly watch more podcasts like this.

Love the respect to Fizzi from PewPewU for Melee's Mount Rushmore. 🙂 Slippi has been instrumental in both keeping the Melee community alive, growing it, and allowing it to really thrive!

This is cool. Think it’s really smart to start adding backstory on yourself so openly and publicly/relatable. To the video such a meteoric rise. Adding more history and narrative is important.

After the loss of the Golden Guardians Podcast this is awesome to listen to! Y'all just got a new sub :)
  • @Pwjdjskw
Really love this! As someone who’s been following the scene for over 10 years now it’s really awesome seeing all these perspectives and reminiscing on melee over the years

  • This was a great video. High quality stuff love the perspective of young blood and the retired pro

what jake was saying about feeling almost disconnected is really interesting but i definitely understand. i went to an event yesterday and i haven’t been competing for a good while so my expectations were low but because of that my sort of physical and emotional tension was also very low. i probably played some of the best melee/pm id played then because of the looseness i was feeling. in prior sets where i was “loose” ive played better as well - not to condone substance use but being halfway through a drink or something keeps me detached enough to help stay flowing in the game. taking games from the highest ranked players in my state have come at times where im able to be focused but not tense at all. maybe it’s a sheik thing!

First off all, yes, more of this. Second, one of the things I realized looking at that old dorm of PewPewU, with the Gorillaz and Yellow Submarine decor- more melee players (to say nothing of gamers in general) need to show at least a little of their passions and interests outside of gaming! I swear, so many players, who I'm sure are charming in many ways, look like they are in some kind of gaming prison. Melee is always more interesting when you have the sense of different kinds of people coming together. PewpewU and Jmook of course are both men of culture and I look forward to them bringing something to the table

Love this type of content. People want to see yall talk!
  • Pewpewu has always been quietly one of the most articulate smashers so it’s great to have this platform for him to cook as the resident old head ❤️
  • @SMALLSandJOE
Killing it with the content recently and seeing pewpewu in all of it too is a duo i didnt know that i needed! Loving it, keep it up!!
  • @GioHimonPro
I chime in every know and then but this made me subscribe for real. Jmook is the best role model of the modern top players imo. Also great seeing pew pew still being around. Him and sfat at doubles were peak melee and people nowadays dont talk about those epic grands they had with armada and his bruder.
  • @talkgomilk
Me and PPU had the exact same Mount Rushmore, it feels like those are definitely the people with the biggest contributions to Melee as a whole over it's lifespan
