There was no awkward egomania about Jimmy Stewart- just a sincere and genuine and warm manner. Conveyed in his film performances as well as interviews. That’s why he’s one of my favourite actors. Very few stars around these days who show the same level of humility and approachability.

Jimmy Stewart never acted a character. HE was the character.
  • A great actor who was also a great and good man. Thank you Jimmy. It was a joy to share with you what you did on the screen that mirrors the world.
  • He is one of those classic Hollywood actors that I grew up watching their films, and so, he's kind of part of my childhood, and of me.
  • Jimmy Stewart was a true American hero. Served in the Army from 1941 to 1947, then in the Air Force from 1947 to 1968. Retired as a Brigadier General. Plus, he made great movies before, during, and after his military career. He is one of the best actors known to man. Rest in peace, sir. God bless you, sir.
  • What a man…what a tremendous, down to earth, clear thinking, boy-scout hearted, talented, hard working, head not in the clouds and feet on the ground man…thank you Mr. Stewart for your values, devotion and your example…🙂

What a humble, lovely man he was; brought down to earth charm to every role he had. I loved him in the Glenn Miller Story and It's A Wonderful Life. I miss you Mr Stewart, RIP Sir ❤

Anyone know the year this was filmed? Jimmy Stewart is a treasure of a person, and a movie star. We are all lucky he will be forever captured within his movies for all future generations to enjoy.

Great interview. I see they also posted an interview with Fred Astaire. Hope they post more Kennedy Center classic movie star interviews from the 1970s and 80s.

He was one of a kind indeed. Hollywoods greatest star ever. Buy the way Capra in translation it means Goat. For those who don’t know
  • I'm sure there's got to be some section of the midwest where people talk like Jimmy Stewart, but I have yet to meet one with quite his accent. Like Robert Redford, I just like listening to him talk. This 'spat' or issue he had with Donna Reed, I can't help but think got wildly overblown. His favorite movie is with her. There may have been a time when they were both frustrated the movie didn't get the reception they felt it deserved. But of course that changed.
  • what kind of watch is Chris Wallace wearing? Also, I wish I was a good as person as Jimmy. This dude is old time tough.
