This short sci-fi thriller, inspired by media like Black Mirror, tackles questions of AI and data collection in a not-so-distant and frighteningly plausible future. Grace, an unemployed college graduate and loyal customer of the Z-Box subscription service, is lured into the depths of a system that she quickly discovers is far over her head. How can you escape something that you've already given permission to track your every move?

Film made by Ryan Mayhan for his thesis in Digital Art and Media Production at Hamilton College.

This is almost exactly how spies get their “assets” to do their work for them. Great work! This would make an outstanding Black Mirror episode.

Good story! The lady with the wavy brown hair looks like a young Susan Sarandon. Very striking!
  • Hello filmmaker neighbor, saw your video on the suggested list on my short sci-fi film and thought I take a look at your film. I thought the was pretty cool. The music and the mood is fantastic and I think you really did and get job creating this future world with the simple but effective production design. Really did feel like Black Mirror, great job!

very well done - that's where we're headed unless we stop them soon
  • I get really frustrated with having a large flat screen, with high quality , high resolution viewing and then half of every single show is filmed in near darkness and difficult to see! Might as well be using a 1950s B&W tv to view.

definitely feels like an episode of black mirror, and I mean that respectfully.

Delivering only at night. Doesn’t feel kosher to me.

This is a great short film. I really enjoyed it. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't stop watching. I feel this film is pointe, given how convenient everything has become nowadays. Bravo to the cast and crew. They did a great job with this

Very original movie, starts from the familiar and leads to the unexpected. The dialog was simple enough for the autocaptioning to do a good job.

  • Surprisingly good actors for a what seems to be a student film. It was very interesting, and it does leave one wanting to know more about that world. Good job!
