Marc Summers being fired for having OCD now would be a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
  • @thegameshowgeek
Fired over OCD? No wonder Marc guards his name like a dog! The man has every right.

I was SO UPSET about that couple with the Post-It Notes. THEY WERE SCREWED…and not in the good way!
  • 23:25 I’m so sick of hearing Michael Larson is a cheater! If you believe he is a cheater, then you believe anyone that has studied for a test is a cheater! Ridiculous!

Shame on you for not playing the Newlywed Game punchline. She was asked the most unusual place they'd made whoopee and she said, "In the ass." Nowadays, saying something like that is no big deal but back in the 70's it had to be censored.
  • It’s totally messed up that Marc Summers was fired for a perception. There wasn’t any evidence that he was difficult or that his condition was or would impair his ability to host; it was just a false perception. If the Hollywood Squares producers had had any sense, they would have realized, “Wait a minute…Marc has been hosting Double Dare and What Would You Do [a Nickelodeon show from the early to mid-90s, not the 20/20 segment] for years without issues, so obviously he can host just fine! There’s nothing to worry about!” Instead they made false assumptions. If anyone ever asks why people with conditions can be reluctant to reveal them, show them that segment.

I’m surprised “The Price Is Right” who got a perfect bid in the showcase round wasn’t mentioned. Like the “Press Your Luck” scandal, the contestant researched the prizes in prior episodes. Technically, he didn’t cheat, but you could tell Drew Carey was dumbfounded.

Most of these aren't what I would call "scandals." Most if them are contestant or host screw-ups. It happens quite a lot where the judges rule against a contestant over a spelling error or mispronounced answer. I don't regard the "Press Your Luck" incident as a scandal, really. The guy figured out a loophole to exploit, which IMO is perfectly legit. The producers and creators of the game set the rules and it's up to them to make sure every detail is checked.

My step dad was on The Gong Show in 1973 and wasn’t Gonged! He played a song on his hands.
  • For #14, I could never win that way because I'm bad at reading body language, but good for him. That was not against the rules and it worked for him

There was a man who was convicted of killing his wife on Family Feud.

Holly was MY FAVORITE Price is Right model😍 I remember being sick and watching her laugh and trip, sometimes slide down a car🤣 So sweet and awesome🥹

17:02 Chuck Barris, producer and host of The 'Gong Show' was a real character. He wrote a book in 1984 (which was later made into a movie, directed by George Clooney) called 'Confessions of A Dangerous Mind' in which he claimed that working as a host and producer of The Gong Show, as well as The Newlyweds provided him cover for his real job of being a CIA assassin. (He later 'confessed' that he'd made it all up, but 'had thought that it would have been interesting if he really had both careers at the same time.'

You'd think that by now people would know that when you're on Wheel of Fortune, you need to over-enunciate and pronounce everything perfectly to win.
