It's been a while since I've shared my projects on here and it's because I've been super blocked from working on them by starting a bunch and then not finishing them! Here's a look into my wip basket as I explain why I stopped working on each of these and if I plan to frog or finish them!

Watching this and feelin the blanket that I started in 2014 staring at me…

I like to call it “frogress” when I’m successfully undoing stitches 😂❤️ p.s. love your videos!! (On both channels!!)
  • @lexiharding5498
I love how many of those you just went 'Sod it I am breaking the rules!', and there weren't even that many projects to start with! I think I have like 10 WIPs, but across 6 different crafts so that if I get bored of my crochet project (for example), I can switch to knitting or cross stitch to give my brain a break and renew my enthusiasm!!

The vest front panels are amazing 😍 I think it would look great with just a plain light blue back or the back of the houses idea would be so cool too

Between sewing, knitting, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, quilting, diamond painting, and (finally!) latch hooking a rug, I have a minimum of 12 WIPs. I have arthritis in my hands, and when I cannot do one craft, I move to another one. But this does take up a lot of space in my living room and my head.

It’s actually really nice to hear someone talking positively about their own work?? Like you saying how beautiful the panels you made for the Santa Monica houses are (and you are correct!) even when you are obviously not happy with the back panel, you still recognise it’s lovely, just not right for that project. It’s just so nice to hear someone being happy with themselves and their work

I honestly love videos where someone just sits down for a few afternoons and just finishes the thing they'd been avoiding. Like Bernadette Banner has a "let's do all the mending and hemming I keep procrastinating on", or Rachel Maksy has closet purge videos. I love to have those sorts of videos on when I, too, am struggling to Do The Thing, so I can body double and get the thing done. Just an idea.

I love this kind of "rant about knitting" style video! I wish it would be two hours long and I could crochet clamly while watching and listening😂❤️

I actually really love that back of the Santa Monica houses vest. It's understated, but interesting enough to encourage someone to see what's going on on the front. I think the back of the houses would give away the goose (or however that idiom goes) of the front. Also, your explanation of "the houses being abstracted on the back, and that's art" is like.... giving me flashback to art school critiques, because seriously, that's exactly what everyone did. xD

That Santa Monica houses vest is gorgeous! Love the checkers idea on the back. And I’m totally here for sock puppets if that’s the direction you decide to go in 💚😎
  • Went through my wips recently. I have 8 wips, but half of them are blankets. I frogged like 5 projects either because I didn’t have enough yarn or didn’t care anymore. I finished 3 wips and subsequently started on like a new project everyday for like 5 days because the warm weather reawakened me lol. Granted the projects I started are easy summer tops, so I finished 5 out of the 6 the day I started. And added a new baby blanket for a friend. Just drowning in blankets 😵😂

What might be fun with the sock is finding a vase shaped like a foot, putting the sock on it and then putting fake flowers or a little plant in it. And I agree with you getting rid of projects that you're no longer committed to. I started a Halloween themed cross stitch and then ended up giving it away at a freebie table at a retreat. I don't miss it and the person who got it was thrilled.

always only one project at a time. at the very most, one knit and one crochet project. i love the projects you choose to work on. i'm kinda bad at finding cute projects.most the stuff on revelry doesn't do it for me and i just don't know where to look anymore! if i were as good as you at finding cool projects, i'd probably have 7 WIPs too.
  • @gemini2711
I used to be so good at only working on one project at a time but then got into this bad habit of buying more yarn honestly i blame those sales and everytime i buy yarn i start a new project so now i have probably more than 10 unfinished wips for one i even finished over 300 granny squares for a pant sweater set but lost any desire to attach them all together 😂 good luck on those wips id give you a solid 80/100 on finishing these projects
  • I make a lot of things into pillow covers I either keep or gift. I've got scarves that have been expanded and sweater fronts slightly revamped to make square and rectangular pillow fronts. The back is either a woven fabric, or a solid stockinette that coordinates with the front. Assemble, stuff and done! I've probably made about 15-20 over the last few decades.

Living for just cutting all the yarn <3 time to raid my project stash and see who makes the cut >:-)
  • The checkerboard back panel is fine. But, given those stunning front panels, having the back of the houses on the back panel is a SHOWSTOPPING idea. You could really have fun with it. The back of the houses don't have to be as detailed as the front. You can add a kitty cat taking a nap, or other fun visual elements.

"If I turned this into a sock puppet making channel, would you guys still watch?" YES.
  • omgg i just openend youtube, got so excited when i saw your video pop up! Thxx for the new video!
  • @MockStrad
I don't knit or crochet but I have two works in progress for my cross stitching. One is an Akira design for my dad that took me over a year to really get started on and the other is a cute Baphamet design for me that won't fit on the panel I have so now I don't know if I should start over or what. I loved those socks you were making, I'm glad you decided to finish them. Looking forward to seeing more.
