The land of broken dreams... that's where the cheapest real estate can sometimes be found. In this case, a remote 5 acres in Interior Alaska where someone had built this weird concrete bunker, and stuffed it with all the things you may or may not expect. Then they left, presumably for decades, and the roof fell in. Then we bought it. Join us as we discover the land and dig in to see what treasures await!

You two were made for each other lol! My wife and I are like that. We often muse that one day God was looking over his "odds and ends pieces" and said, you know, these two would go together so he put us in proximity to each other so that we found each other and we never looked back. In our 70's now and we know that we are each others last partner because we no longer have time to train a new recruit lol!! Love you two and enjoy sharing your adventures!
  • I agree it's gross. But over time I think I would rehab some old logs on the property make some roof trusses. Put some tin on it and strong doors. And you would have nice storage building to keep your tools in for the winter. Have fun be safe.

I bought an estate property when I got the opportunity two years ago. I thought my cabin was gross! Watching this video, I am blessed! My previous owner was thankfully obsessed with lumber and tarps, aluminum louvered windows and a dozen or more 20lb propane tanks. I can build raised garden beds and a attached green house atrium on the back of my 24x32 ft log sided cabin. Solar heat! He left me enough 2x12x20 ft boards to build it all! He also left a 32 ft 1984 Yellowstone 5th wheel. Think I will redo the inside next spring and Airbnb it! So much to do, but, like you, I love being a girl in the woods...🥰

👍👍👍. That bunker is a Gift Horse. Once cleaned up, a bit of work thereon over time and you'll have lockable secure storage for whatever .. and it'll be out of sight and an asset. One can never have too much storage space .. or plastic bags 😁. Something to mull over ..
  • Brooke, I bet you heard me scream “noooooooo!” When you took a sip of that old mouthwash. You are crazy! I enjoyed every minute of the video. Thank you for taking us along.
  • I can't even with Dave not using gloves to handle most of the stuff!! And I'm not even a germ-a-phob! . LOL Are all the bags for his fresh kills....of the human kind?? hahaha This was just fun to go along for the ride with you two.
  • I actually like the idea of you cleaning out the bunker and making it a storage unit. You could paint it light blue and paint flowers and trees on it so it blends well. Maybe sculpt a few gnomes around it. Make it a gnome cottage

As someone who has taken years to clean up an abandoned property/cabin, I can relate to the overwhelmed feeling. Doing a little bit at a time may not feel like you're accomplishing much, but looking back at "before" images will help you maintain motivation. Even hauling out a couple bags a trip will make a huge impact.
  • Always nice to see you guys together on a new project... this new challenge, certainly, worth the investment. Congratulations 👏 Some time "the misfortunes of one make the happiness of others" ... very glad for you guys. Still several "cabbages fat" in there. 🧙‍♂️🇨🇦🥰
  • Its quite sad to see it so destroyed actually. Someone loved their little hovel in the woods at one point. Nice to see you guys begin to tidy it up though.

Honestly, I love watching you and Dave together. There's no doubt you two were made for each other. Good luck with the new property!

  • You two are the cutest. I love you to pieces. Really, this was interesting to watch. Your process together and the end decision to change course. Good learning for us viewers and couldn't ask for two more lovable cuties to follow along with. Enjoy your upcoming adventures on this sweet deal of a property. Staying tuned....
  • @madefree55
Thank you Dave and Brooke. You had me in tears at the very end. God Bless You guys.
  • I say once its ALL cleared out its a solid foundation for a small cabin. Dave you know you can build ANYTHING and the two of you together....unimaginable.

“Yup…..I always wanted a landfill” That cracked me up haha! Please send us updates.
  • @wolfgang3076
I always like how GIW laughs at adversity and other life's events, even in the woods. Things happen like roof caveins but we all need to find time to step-back and enjoy the moment! Good vid!!
