The Mk8 R is definitely a vibe, and its a hoot to drive in stock form. I have a 2022 MK8 R, with the Racingline turbo elbow & inlet pipe w/ a drop in performance filter...and I love driving this thing IMO its so silly what VW did this go around with programming & tuning. Its seriously a FUN car to drive especially if you hit the back roads which I do daily on my commute to & from work....I had a 2015 GTI before this Stage 1+ tuned, Springs, DB mount, rear Antiroll bar, Wheels & tires, Intake....and that was a fun car to drive also but I had to invest a few $$ to get it there. The MK8 R is that plus, from factory.

The golf r content is making me want to keep my Mk6 Gti
  • I drive a mk6r and it’s a blast to drive. It’s stg 2 with some suspension mods. Stock for stock I found it way more fun than a mk7 gti.
  • You know what you got no credibility to talk is any car good or fun to drive when all you do is straight roads some acceleration. You must visit a track and do some fast cornering

Love the vid mate from Oz I own a Tig R and she puts a smile on my face when I put her in R mode
  • Im looking to get a 24' Golf R manual and i will be keeping it stock I think its fun enough and gets the daily job done right
  • No its not. Golf gti is a lot more fun to drive but R is faster. R is very front heavy but you have to visit a track to notice that, on normal roads fast driving R is faster and fells safer but still Gti is more fun.
