Japan: "It must be hand to hand combat" America: "Got it, two cannons on one robot"

1. Do it in the Nevada desert. 2. Get corporate sponsorship and pay per view. 3. Get rid of the paintball cannons/guns. They're dumb. 4. Take the pilots out of the robots so they can use real weapons. 5. Enjoy

Could you imagine how fast an excavator with a claw could destroy these
-
Maybe it wasn't as exciting as we all imagined it would be, but this moment will be remembered in history as the first ever giant robot fight. They crawled so that one day even bigger robots can soar.
-
This is like watching 2 kids play with their toys but don't want to damage them because their parents will get mad.

Mankind will watch this duel in 100-200 years and admire how far their robot duels have come

This was a cool experience but the outcomes were pretty obvious. First match: both robots independently built around the same weight class for their creators pleasure. Let’s call it medium weight class. America went for a ranged turret bot and Japan for a melee lancer bot. Melee won when it got the charge in especially since these are concept bots and the American bot was not actually created to use live ammunition. Makes sense. Second match: America custom built a bot specifically for defeating Japan’s bot that was double its weight class. That’s like a assault mech vs a medium mech in Battletech terms. Really it was obvious Japan was fighting at a huge disadvantage in that and makes sense for America to win. Also chain saw and cannons in a supposedly melee duel lol.

I kind of feel they did a "I win, You win" thing for this event as an exibition as if I recall, that Kurata robot is manueverable enough to drive circles around the heavy tracked Megabot. They obviously also didn't take the hint about hand to hand.

I like how the commentator trys his hardest, to make this intense

Japan: "It must be hand to hand combat" America : "you mean 2 cannons and a chainsaw right?
-
Kuratas looks so well put together all around, the iron glory looks like it rolled out of a shed lmao. the match-up kinda gave me a street fighter vs proffesional vibe
-
That first duel was very amusing. Well done team Japan.
-
let's just hope the monsters from pacific rim give us another 20 years before they surface from the ocean
-
Eagle Prime: "Ok so I'm going to shoot 3 times, annndddd... that ends my turn. KURATIS: d r o n e
-
Feel like someone in a forklift could have won this fight. They would be faster, more stable, and could just drive the forks into the slow big robots
-
500 years later ... Robots will see this clip how their ancestors were used for fun and killed... And seek revenge. 😂🤣

"Don't get distracted by the drone" Gets distracted by the drone

Imagine this is a job or a competition you can make a living on. How cool would it be to tell others "Yeah, I'm a pilot" "Oh, for what airlines?" "I don't fly planes, I pilot titans"
-
In 100 years looking back at this, it will look like WW1 bi-planes.
