One correction to this video. If you are seeking a long-term visa (like business or retirement), do NOT start out with a tourist visa. You should apply for a regular visa type (E-class) which can then be converted to a longer term 6 or 12 month visa. I just met an expat who made this mistake. He had to leave the country (visa run to neighboring country) and start over.

As a long time Cambodian born but Australian citizen and married to a Cambodian woman, watch out when she replaces western values over the eastern ones. You will complain.

This video was a fantastic showcase of 'life in Cambodia'. It's really helpful for anyone considering moving to a cheaper country. Thanks!

Ive visited there a few times over the course of around 15 years. The country really has come a long way economically and infrastructurally in a good way. Like to point out that it is a DUAL CURRENCY country, legally and officially allowing US Dollars to be used. Many, if not all ATMs dispense at a very, very favorable rate. $5 charge to get up to $1000. I do hope the country can stay on track to being friendly, stable, and prosperous for all involved.

I am from Toronto Canada. I am seriously thinking to spend sometime in Cambodia to see if I can retire there. Last year in Philippines. It was good but gotta see other countries

Too good to be true? What's the downside? Sorry if this sounds a bit negative. Been to Thailand several times and worked in Indonesia for an American engineering company. Would love to visit and perhaps retire somewhere like Cambodia. Maybe this November after the rainy season. Thanks for the video! Cheers

  • I was there in February last year. Pnom pen was a bit traumatic and very sad. Then, we went to Siem Reap which was fascinating. I love SE Asia. For a place to spend lots of time. From my experience, I would prefer Thailand or Vietnam.
