I DIDNT THINK ABOUT RECORDING THIS UNTIL AFTER IT WAS ALL APART. I DIDN MY BEST TO WALK YOU THROUGH THE ENTIRE PROCESS OF REASSEMBLY. HOPEFULLY IT HELPS SOMEONE.

Thanks for taking your time showing us how to take those columns apart and back together. I've had them apart before but didn't take the whole assembly apart because of bearings were still good when I did my last one but thanks a lot they are a little tricky appreciate you showing us how it's done. All the best from Canada

Thanks for posting this JC. I need to do this on my mustang before I get it back on the road. A former dealer tech friend said those weren’t serviceable, I figured otherwise but never looked into it.

God, what a mess! Great job & tutorial though, really admire you doing that for your son!

I broke the steering column on my 80 Chevy pickup by doing the same thing. Using the steering wheel to pull myself up into the truck. Steering columns are not designed to support a persons weight, but there is no handle to use. Just a bad design. I learned about steering columns the hard way. There are also special tools required to disassemble and assemble them. Not a fun job. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for showing us how to do this. I had a bronco that the wheel was wobbly. I ended up pulling a column from the junkyard.
  • @nikodiaz5012

  • @edwarddherde9536
Great explanation video thank you for sharing and taking the time to do this video
  • Hopefully I never have to do that job on my Powerstroke, but it’s good to know it’s not that difficult if you have the right tools and know how. I don’t think you could get a better starting Powerstroke though J.C. Sounds like it starts up with just one revolution. Pretty cool truck👍
  • @ericcorse
That ought to help some folks out, I like the cable ties tip.

Lol- "don't be intimidated, it's not that big of deal." After practically reassembling a mechanical watch on camera with one hand filming 😂😂

I can understand the trand toward pushbutton start in most cars today. I have it now and with the dial transmission (car) it is not normal. I still reach for the gear lever.
