πŸ˜ŠπŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ό We shall return! ✨

Honest and helpfil review about the night market.

  • Hi JM. Just saw your vlog on Shilin. Been watching your vlogs eversince. Anyway, I already went to Shilin night Market a couple of years back, before the pandemic. Go there at night talaga so you can appreciate the night market. Madami food stalls and you can even smell stinky tofu kahit madami dyan nag iihaw ng mga iba iba sausages, squid, etc. The food court, hindi talaga yan ang famous. Shilin at night is like Raohe market, same food, same ambience. Sorry to say, baka mali lang yung time nung nagpunta ka. Just my two-cents. Anyway, keep up the nice vlogs. I enjoy coz you know how to communicate 😊
  • Mas buhay ang Shilin kapag gabi at may pop-up stalls sa may road. Best time is evening but not too late. Tho I prefer XImending night market in terms of food kasi magkakatabi talaga. Pero if pasalubong like keychains mas mura sa Shilin. :)

Shilin is really nice, when i was in taiwan for 5 days, i go there every night and eat stinky tofu and taiwan sausage, even the well know crispy chikcen is ther as well.the lower food area is also very good at night. Gabi tlaga ang life sa shilin night market. Siksikan tlaga dyan pag gabi, very festive

mas okay po pumunta ng gabi since mas madami open na stalls, mas ma appreciate mo yung night market nila. but for me pinaka the best talaga ang ximending para sa night market hehe. also mas malapit ang shilin night market if sa exit 1 ka lalabas from jiantan station. 😊

I enjoying watching your travel vlogs, JM, and love the helpful tips you share. Although, I was quite surprised that you did not enjoy Shilin. We stayed at an AirBnb right in front of the Shilin night mkt. We went there every night but it was quite big and crowded, lines everywhere so we couldn't try all the food we saw there. The fun starts at 7pm when all the stalls are open. Also, we skipped the covered area you went to bec it wasn't what we wanted to explore. You should've gone there at night and then walked further down the street where you saw HotStar. You know you've reached the heart of the mkt when you see the temple. Lots of great food and trinkets to buy. I remember seeing a lechon stand there and was surprised it was considered streetfood. Note that all night mkts in Taiwan has a temple. So the nearer you are to it, the busier it will be.

Shilin is the same as Raohe. :)
  • It is really better at night there in Shilin Market . Very different at night :)
