Here's the thing. I chose Lumine, so at the beginning of the game it was her screaming Aether. I didn't hear the proper pronunciation until the We Will Be Reunited quest, and then I was like, "Oh I've been saying it wrong this whole time."

While it should be obvious for those playing on the English version if they were paying any attention, the other versions (Korean at least, I don't know about the other two) actually do pronounce it Lu-Min-Aye so that could be why alot of people pronounce her name that way
