After more than 80,000 miles sailed, 56 countries visited, an entire circumnavigation of planet earth, and dropping our anchor at countless islands, atolls, and indescribable paradises…this insane island beats them all. We’re here in the Tuamotu Islands of French Polynesia, and we are really and truly in the middle of nowhere out here. About 3,000 miles of open ocean lies between us and Mexico to the north east, and another 3,000 or so in the other direction to New Zealand. We felt like the luckiest family in the world to be able to call this place home for a while, but unbelievably, on this morning, these islands revealed another side of themselves that we can’t even put into words…

I don't comment often but I want to say that I've been watching your channel weekly for several years now and I have to say I really enjoy the time I get to spend with you. It's calming, it's un-pretentious. I like it.

The "anchor splash" and digging in at 5:00 was really cool. Don't know how difficult it was to set that up and capture it, but I loved it. Thanks for the video.
  • the drone shots are sooo amazing! the colors! brown, turquoise, blue, white sands, green palms... just wow 😯

Gosh, brings back so many memories of my own cruise through the Tuamotus back in 1978. I feel your discomfort from the heat! I recall that the water inside the lagoon was HOT and there was no relief from the heat by swimming - one had to dive down twenty or thirty feet to find some cooler water. Back in those days, before GPS and radar, boats were frequently wrecked on the low-lying reefs; it was common to see abandoned hulls lying ashore - people's dreams shattered. Most boats sailed around the Tuamotus to avoid the danger.

Paradise! Family time together in a place like this is priceless... Fair winds! Chris, Rossella & Emma 😊
  • Sierra is getting a real life experience and education! You might want to get some of that Flex tape for emergency repairs.

JB Weld should be carried on every boat for repairs. Excellent shots of anchoring with the camera on the anchor. Another excellent video of the cruising life in the tropics... the very hot tropics where even the water can be too hot.

Dad with painted blue fingernails, must be a proud father of a girl. I think it is great how this channel has evolved for this many years. I love the content, since the beginning.

Every time one of your videos gets suggested to me, I end up binging 5 or 6 of them. Then I find myself, with no boating experience, little mechanical know-how, and only about $2000 of expendable income, wanting to just set sail tomorrow and leave it all behind. Thanks for letting me live vicariously for a few hours now and then.

The whole episode's music was fantastic. So cool to watch Sierra grow since we joined the channel when she was born. Those islands look magnificent.
  • Great video. What a paradise. Sierra is growing up so fast, such a little beauty.

The video of the anchor digging in and setting was awesome, great video!

I love your Polaroid wall and was wondering what will happen to the photos on Delos 2.0. How about encapsulating them in epoxy resin and incorporating them into the new furniture? It would be a beautiful and practical way to keep those memories alive on the new boat.
