Even if George Hodel didn't murder the Black Dahlia (and I believe he did), he definitely murdered someone.

Steve Hodel states in the 'Root of Evil' podcast that when he found out his father was a suspect in the case, he tried to clear his name, but as he kept investigating he became convinced that George commited the murder and other murders along with that.

I think the crappiest thing about this case is that Elisabeth Short went to Hollywood to be a famous actress, but instead becomes infamous as "The Black Dahlia". Barely anyone even knows her real name. đą

It's sad that this man was clearly a serial killer but because he was rich and powerful he just got away with it

If my father was a narcissistic abuser with shady dealings that literally impregnated my sister I'd hate him as well. Doesn't illegitimize the very solid evidence if you were to ask me.

the fact she was placed across a street named âdegnanâ, which was a murder of a child in chicago with the last name Degnan, whoâs limbs were surgically removed and placed in different locations. she was supposedly a victim of the lipstick killer (which plays into the french murder) , George Hodel was suspiciously in chicago at that time. not to mention the child and dahlia were both perfectly bisected (cut in half).

I love the "very attactive". Like, someone had to look at that corpe, that had been cut in half and drained of blood and go "Well THAT is a beautiful lady".

"Fingernails chewed to quick." That detail guts me every time I hear it, even more than the gruesome details of her murder. It's such a human, relatable detail.

Even if George didn't kill the Black Dahlia, he still should've gone to jail for what he did to his daughter

The fact that he went to the Philippines and a body was found with the same type as the black dahlia gives me chillls.

She only became famous cause of her killer, cause she had to suffer this painful death. The fame she struggled to achieve when she was alive. And yet, the other murder victim is barely known. If that ain't some depressing poetry

i am from philippines. if im not mistaken, we also have the similar case of black dahlia: we have two. lucila lalu (1967), the original chop chop lady of the philippines. i assume, since it was mentioned that Hodel moved to philippines, i was starting to think of it deeply. it's also unsolved and one of the most horrific cases in the ph. it does makes sense to me now...

Ryan: "Yeah, cops don't care, I guess..." this series does a great job at displaying our country's complete and justifiable lack of faith in it's justice system and the police
