My understanding is that Khelif is "intersex," which means he/she has a chromosomal anomaly (maybe XXY). Intersex babies are often assigned one sex or the other at birth, so the birth certificate may not be meaningful. At any rate, if some women boxers are allowed to have elevated testosterone levels because it is "natural." then all women competitors should be allowed to raise their testosterone levels, if they wish.

Where does the system leave people who are born with one set of genitalia and different set of chromosomes? This is not even tested for at birth. Many times people find out when they cannot conceive.
