Before he moved to Los Angeles, he literally lived next-door to my family in Chicago. I remember his mom. Wonderful man. What you see is what you get

the end of the "Newhart" series was the best finally ever. waking up next to his wife from the first series and saying "I had the weirdest dream" was priceless and classic.
  • One of the most talented comedians to ever be. His material from the 50's on up is worth a listen...

Makes me so happy I grew up listening to Bob and watching The Bob Newhart Show with my parents. Im not sure the younger generations understand how groundbreaking his conversational comedy style was. Pure genius!
  • “Haven’t you stolen enough from me?? Back off bow-tie!!” Professor Proton AKA Bob Newhart to Bill Nye. Delivered with such power at an incredible age. Really brought a tear to my eye when I found out he got an Emmy.

A genius. Because he was so real, he made it all look easy. It takes extraordinary talent and effort to make it look real. Listen to the Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart. A master class in comic timing.

I have been a Bob Newhart fan since his first show. My mom would let me stay up and watch it. He was willing to let his co-stars have a bit of the spotlight. The end of Newhart was classic with Suzanne Pleshette and asking how she looked in sweaters was awesome

Who doesn't love him? Great person, truly funny.
  • "Sheldon, in an hour I have to get up, pee, and wander around the house!"
  • Hit it big around 1960 and still collecting awards in 2013. Well done.
