I remember going to the movie house when I was 13 to see this film. After I payed 50 cents and walked into the theater what greeted me was unbelievable. The manager of the theater had managed to get a earlier F1 racing car and placed inside the lobby, I stood admiring that car for so long I missed the opening of the film!

“We’ve been awarded a time penalty for that last incident.”

Garner did all his own driving in this movie. Jackie Stewart did the Stoddard driving. Stewart said that Garner was good enough to have made a career in racing. My fave movie of all time, this. The Monza sequences especially.

  • This film looks amazing for it’s age. High quality film, modern camera angles and good sound works contributed in making this timeless.

1966 Think for a sec how good the race footage is. No cgi in them days
  • I watched this movie in Atlantic cinema in Tehran with stereophonic sound and 70 milimeter screen and I loved it. I was 11 by then and now I am 65. How could I forget that . Together with my father and mother and my two little brothers. Gone with the wind!!!
