Can you beat Spore without evolving from the weakest species in the game? Here's my attempt at the pitiful worm challenge I saw from KinglyValence and Narotiza. Not a speedrun at all - just wanted to have some fun trying it out.

  • Felt like revisiting Spore after a long time away from it - Narotiza and KinglyValence inspired this one with the pitiful worm, so please go check out their better versions of the run. Honestly just felt like having some fun with it after the last blind species run. Hope you enjoy!
  • if you're not enjoying the creature stage its because you arent leading a ragtag band of toothy monstrosities to go around eating everything into extinction
  • @Etherealizer
I really wish we could get a modern spiritual successor to Spore.

People who haven't played Spore: "So, it's some casual kids' game, right?"

People who have played spore: "I have stared into the abyss of existence, and it stared back, eyeless and wriggling."

If Spore makes a sequel, I’m running to my wallet ASAP. They need to revive this franchise man, this is my kind of game.
  • @Zapdos0145
Spore is something i’d like to see more of in 2022.

The idea of an invertebrate worm with one orifice and zero senses becoming a space faring race is more amusing than it should be

Just imagine we finally make 1st contact with aliens excited for them to share their technology and a giant earthworm flops out.

"The whole tribe bounced and thrusted with majesty as our number of homies grew" Gotta be one of the greatest quotes I've ever heard🤣
  • @Baptann
I kept laughing at the fact that this is the equivalent to humans making all of their buildings and vehicles giant versions of their faces and bodies, but not even in like the mech way, they're just static

we need another spore game. This game had so much potential. Does anybody know if there are some devs making a game similar to this?
  • @blarpnarp
i remember playing this when i was like 10 and making the most ungodly creatures to walk the planet like some sort of psychotic cruel god
  • I cant imagine the cosmic horror of being annihilated by a race of single celled worms

Spore was a fun game until the space age. It became kind of meandering at that point and was hard to run. I think something that would have really helped the game during that phase is if you could have set up passive trade routes to make money instead of having to travel and sell everything personally. You'd have more time to terraform and explore if you could do that.

I started laughing so hard I began crying when I saw the worm shaped cars and buildings in the civilization stage.

I get frustrated every time i see spore, because it could have gotten a remake already but because everyone saw how it failed (still due to no fault of its own but THE FUCKING EA) investors figured that it's a really bad idea for a game build. Small indie devs have no resources to make it happen, big developer studios have no will to make it happen, such is the pitiful existence of this unnderrated concept and it makes me sad.
  • @okdarius
Not having had heard or played this game before, I was both invested and bewildered for 13 straight minutes.
  • I love how broken the animations for worms are in the tribal stage!
  • @thich9417
This game is beautiful, I’m glad you’re covering it! Thanks for the great content!

"You're killing your enemies only to spite them and you can't even eat their corpses after you're done.

Darwin would find our evolutionary methods both baffling and disturbing."

This goes in my quote book.
  • @mcipher5086
So this is how the Hutts became so powerfull despite being literal worms.
