That's right, we found out this week at Sew Yeah Quilting that our entire quilt store is BROKEN... From the bolts of fabric to the pre-cuts, everything is completely broken and Teancum is here to show you guys how we plan on fixing it. Can we fix our horrible mistake?

Finally, somone who gets it. When I go shopping for fabric I want to see the collection all together. I don't like having to go tracking down the fabrics.
  • Many sewists and quilters struggle with choosing fabrics that coordinate, so putting the fabrics into coordinating collections simplifies that process. Kudos to you for understanding the issue and working towards resolving it.

I don't make quilts by a collection. I prefer shopping by color. But, I understand that many quilters like the collections.
  • Yes! For those of us who find it challenging to find a coordinating fabric for a fabric collection...this is the answer! Thank you!

As a former shop owner and Top 10 shop it is important to create an experience for people so they can see themselves making the quilts. Rows of bolts are not inspiring and when things are too busy people will walk right by. It takes more work but display is everything for a brick and mortar shop
  • Since I live 1800 miles from Vegas, I will probably never see the store in person. However, I completely agree with keeping collections together. I am terrible at choosing colors, so love buying collections.

My quilt store keeps collections together until maybe half the collection has sold out, and then they incorporate the rest into color sections. They don't have nearly as much room as this store does, so they do what they can. Works for me!

I really appreciated that you asked us for input. Its always hard to please everyone but you made the effort to try. Says so much about your care and love for your "SY Family". We recognize the efforts that the SY Team does and are so thankful. Even if I'm not buying I will be online to hang out and hear the latest. Thx SYTeam 💜 😊
  • Thank you for putting the collections together and with their precut friends. 🎉
  • This would be so frustrating for me. 😅 I like to choose my own fabrics for a quilt. I would never buy a collection. I don’t like having the same print in multiple colors. I realize that people like the convenience of collections/precuts and not having to decide on color choices. But that’s the most fun. I don’t want a cookie cutter quilt like everyone else. Plus there is so much waste in a precut versus only buying what is written on a pattern. Also you are stuck with the ugly colors in a precut that would just be donated. But collections are very popular with todays quilters and it will save time for them trying to find companion fabrics. You will probably sell more fabric this way too. Good for you to listening to this popular request. Shoppers like myself will have to go on the hunt! 😁 I’ll never complain about spending more time in a quilt store though. Good luck❗️❗️❗️

I love it. Walking around trying to find the rest of the collection was difficult.

Especially if one have very little time to shop, being on a road trip. Walking in and finding all the buddies together makes shopping easier and quick.❤

There is no wrong way to do this. It looks beautiful as always. My struggle will be I don’t usually shop by collection so I will have to look through everything to fine the colors or prints that match where I headed in my pattern. I guess that cleaver marketing on your part. 😉

Really OLD Quilter here.Thank you for keeping quilting fun and inspirational for young people. I remember when quilting fell out of fashion, so I thank you for keeping this utilitarian artform alive, and thriving. Best wishes to a prosperous future.
  • Hey - I feel your pain!! I’m a retired cataloging librarian/craft seamstress. Was once involved of culling out all the biographies from the adult non- fiction shelves to create a stand-alone collection….a change in approach that our patrons requested. Our building housed about 90,000 volumes. Pulling books, re-cataloging them, relabeling, sorting and rehousing them was a daunting task, but it made our users happy - so we did it for the greater good! Keep smiling and carry on!!💕

My all time favorite quilt store where I shopped in person each month had the outer walls organized by color. There was a CW section, a 30s section, and a WOW section, which catered to their customers. Otherwise, every new collection had its own circular display in the middle of the floor, all the pieces together. When most bolts were gone remaining ones were integrated into the outer walls, and the newest fabrics took center stage. Staff knew their stock so well, I never had trouble finding anything!
  • I love seeing the collection together in a display. I also love how you have the precuts right there with the collection so that customers don’t have to hunt them down. Great change!

Looks awesome Teancum! A job well done Sew Yeah. This would be a perfect shopping trip for me. I know what I would be looking for and wouldn't have to ask for help. Thanks for showing us around.🤩🥰
  • Thank you for "getting" into a quilters' mind and viewpoint. It truly is easier to visually understand and recognize the fabrics potential. Again, thank you!
