  • Nice, I've been doing this for years. I've never had to use a top layer of the wide tape on the perimeter. FYI, some folks, like us, have blinds mounted next to the glass and which become enclosed by the plastic sheet. I pick the spot for the cord to come through the plastic, then put a couple of strips of the wide, thick tape you used over that area, 3 or 4 inches in length. Then a razor blade to cut a slit for the cord to come through the thick tape. The thick layer of tape keeps the slit for the cord in the plastic sheet from tearing further. Bring the cord through to the room side and you can raise the blinds on a cold sunny day, lower otherwise. The slit lets negligible air leakage.

Note to self...MUST BUY BEER 🍺
  • I wonder if you could just buy a clear 50 gallon drum liner and trim it to the size of the window, don't see why that wouldn't work just as well and you could use masking tape that is made to peel off without making a mess or peeling off the paint

What if you have an AC in the bottom half of your window (like in my pic). Could you stretch the shrink wrap over BOTH the AC and the window? Or does one need to remove the AC first before wrapping the window?
  • When you come to taking it off for Spring, is there a special procedure to save paintwork?

How is the roll of wrap held up at the top of the window while he unrolls it? Anyone?
