Many don’t know, but he wasn’t respected nor accepted into the art culture because he was black. It wasn’t until he passed that the art world finally held his art to a high regard. So much so everyone started to buy his art because they knew it’d be worth millions

Basquiat's first name is pronounced "John" (spelled Jean). Michele is pronounced "Michelle" like the woman's name, not Michael. By the way, Jay-Z is no Basquiat...not even close.
