This comeback was after NSW was given a try, after a blatant knock on. Former QLD greats were calling for Locky's head if he didn't win the series. QLD was on the brink of losing their 4th series in a row, then came that intercept....Locky went on to lift the shield, premiership trophy and tri nation trophy in 06....to me this game he showed the other QLD players how he won't give up on them. He seemed to elevate other players around him...to me his the goat, the ultimate clutch player.

I’ll never forget this game… I was a child… crying my eyes out cause I thought Queensland were gonna lose… dad laughing at me… then boom… my little heart never raced so fast in that last 10 minutes… still magic now… up the maroons!!!

The commentary team back then was awesome. They made watching on T.V felt like you were there in the stadium

Thurston putting a step on O'Donnell started the momentum that took 8 years to stop

How nice is it seeing Carl Webb, bittersweet. Wish that fella nothing but the best! 🥰
  • Apparently the guy who scored the try that started the dynasty is the same guy who got man of the match in game 3 of 2013 (8th series wins in succession). In game 2 of 2014, he was taken out with injury when the dynasty ended. Wait what??? He also got man of the match in game 3 of 2006. Tatey, you're a legend.

Ray Warren and Peter Sterling were the very best commentators of all time. Pete, always hung his blue hat on the hook when he picked up the mic.

Best clutch player of all time Lockyer didn't play for the whole 8 years of the dynasty but Lockyer is still the most important piece to that puzzle underrated in the Goat discussion and it will be an absolute travesty if he is never made an immortal

The Brent Tate try was really what changed the momentum. Yes locky sealed it with the intercept, but if JT and Tate dont make the break, the dynasty wouldnt have even started.
  • Brent Tate in full flight was one of the great sights in rugby league.

Such an iconic moment. Remember watching this with my old man yelling the house down.
  • How immense was that Thurston step, and then that bullseye pass to Tate!

jeeesus Ben ikin really should wear his glasses at all times
  • Watched that in Byron Bay with a pub full of Blues. Never seen a pub empty so quick from what was the loudest the manager had ever seen a crowd for 70 minutes. As a Qlder it doesn't get any sweeter.
