As someone who worked inside sewers, I wish they were as spacious as video games make them to be

In Metro 2033 you go through the sewers throughout the whole game. Fun.
  • Confess it, kangaroo man You're the one who runs the Dungeon, keeping CV-11 imprisoned for experimentation while taking funds from Sseth's Merchants Guild

If a toilet doesn't flush in a game, I'm severely disappointed. Not even joking

I'm surprised you didn't mention the sewer level from Condemned: Criminal Origins. The way it seamlessly went from a metro station to a sewer was pretty cool. Also, the environmental storytelling of the inhabitants is pretty chilling stuff. Civilians escaping to the depths for safety only to become skeletal creatures of rage.

Sewer level in dishonnored is so well done it basicly a invisible tutorial (for preference its level design that naturally signal the player about how the game work while got them progressing the game instead having to blast a panel of text of guides )for half the mechanic appeared later in the game

"There ain't no games without sewer levels." - Serious Sam

In Oblivion the tutorial stage is a sewer system, it transitions from ruins to caves and into sewers. You return there later in the game for the main questline as well.
  • “The most traumatic depiction of someone falling to their death” [hits the ground] [ad plays] That’s pretty traumatic

SEWER COUNT: WHO KNOWS WHAT AT THIS POINT?!
  • @HerbertFilby
Missed one horrible example: Dead Island. The sewer maze section basically ruins an otherwise pretty decent survival horror game.

damn, it's a shame there was no "F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate" on here, half of that entire game felt like it was in sewers

Sewer level initially felt novel because it was like a modern version of a medieval dungeon and came off as spooky and mysterious. It just got overplayed.

The three universal constants: death, taxes and sewer levels.
