This old trapper cabin at Nine Mile on the St. John River was built by Camille Beaulieu. He died in 2006. In 2015 the "Lost Cabin Hunters" who are now called the "Maine Cabin Masters" renovated the cabin installing a standing seam metal roof and flooring. In this episode I returned to the cabin to finish framing and installing the cabin floor ( I ran out of materials and did not complete the finish floor) and start framing the porch. The floor is made of 2 layers of 1x12 shiplap pine with staggered seams. I used the reflector oven to bake biscuits by campfire.

This cabin is an official North Maine Woods campsite and is open to the public on a first come first served basis.#logcabin #offgrid #cabinbuilding

  • I think people like you because you are a humble man, doing something you are passionate about. Your character shows through. God bless you.
  • Many different designs for each type of project are also included. For example, there are hundreds of designs youtube.com/post/Ugkxb2mhCug-GkCWrq69Ce2I0nM0D4Qpx… for outdoor buildings, from small sheds all the way up to a complete stable. Choose whatever type of shed or storage house is right for you. Pick from fancy ones or more utilitarian designs.

By the time I finished watching you cook I was drooling like Gracie! Seriously, this is a great channel. I own a remote cabin in Ohio, its my happy place. I especially appreciated the fact you prayed before you ate. Good job!
  • Love the fact that real men do exist and you are not afraid to show your Faith. Love all you do and your beautiful dog. Great Work... the Cabin is looking good. 🙏👍🐾🐾🦴

One of your best videos Cory! We got to see you and Gracie just hanging out, cooking & having dinner, sharing some Jiffy Pop popcorn. Most appreciated was giving thanks to God for his love and provisions!
  • Another awesome video that takes me away from the craziness of this world. Just like Jesus does. I love how you pray before your meals. Thank you for editing that into your videos!

Gracie is like our Nitschke (rip), looking to see what else there is to eat, before finishing the food already available. Great work.
  • Loved your video. Wish you had posted your recipes. Food sure looked yummy and I was drooling along with Gracie. Lol

Came across this vid by chance, its great. Im actually from the Uk but when I visited family in Boston years ago we travelled north to Maine to move a log cabin further back from the water. We spent days, sweat and tears shifting the cabin just 10ft ! I will never forget. Pjm 27*10*2022.
  • I was born in Maine, spent a lot of time in log cabins . Love to see young people taking an interest in the old ways.

I'm dealing with some chronic illness issues right now, and this gives me hope that someday, with better treatment and God's graces, that I can get back to the land and do something at least half as spiritually fulfilling as what you're accomplishing!
