I haven't been to Bali but I have been to Labuan Bajo, another tourist spot in Flores, Indonesia. 90% of the tourists were obnoxious, self-centered drunkards who had zero respect for the locals' hometown. These people see anywhere they go as their own personal resort. Anywhere you go, YOU'RE A GUEST. Behave like one.

Ignorant tourists who damage ancient ruins and sites should be immediately fined thousands of dollars and banned from ever visiting the place again. There should also be guards constantly patrolling the area to make sure no damage has been done to the remains. The amount of tourists entering the place at a time should also be heavily restricted.

And then Covid changed everything. We claimed back our cities and had time to rethink mass tourism. Dolphins in Venice, the cleanup of waste in Thailand, nature recovering and local communities connecting again. Let this be the new normal 🙏🏻

Hopefully tourists will now look to visit some unique locations rather than just visiting the same cities as everyone else

I live in Sweden. I have never been outside of Europe. I have only been to Denmark and The Netherlands. For some reason I have never been interested in the whole tourism thing. You don't really get to know the country you are visiting very well imo. I don't own a smartphone and I don't use social media such as Facebook and Instagram because I don't want to be a sheep like the rest of the herd. I like to think for myself.
  • Now that this pandemic happened, I realized that nature rests on us, we must make changes in our lives. And that tourism helps.
  • And I want to say that some of Chinese visitors have bad behaviors too because they may cause less/more destructive to landmarks(also known to vandalise them).

All of this happens in many cities except Cairo where you find the pollution and bad behaviour from the locals not the tourists.

Turkey should also be careful about this, the number of tourists is increasing very quickly, it is over 40 millions for this year and it is already considered as a new record, the best thing to do is try to attract tourist in other parts of Turkey not only the south ( Bodrum/Antalya) and Istanbul.
  • Tourists need to be respectful and stay out of jails. Tell your city to ban Airbnb!

tourism is harmful to the economy for local people, because stuff gets too expensive, but it is good for a small group of greedy people. So they sacrifice the people's well being to please the few rich.

Africa will gladly take in all the tourists
  • @IBIZABIKE
We will now see how no tourists will affect the city's
