A mistake is something like forgetting something on a shopping list, knocking over a glass of water, or forgetting to take out the trash. Lying is not a mistake, it is a choice.

I love the fact that when these celebrities finally admit lying, they almost always include a justification for their lies ("I'm only human," "I felt a lot of pressure," etc). That sounds like more PR, not real contrition.
