This is the first Filipino composition in English. Written by Salvador Asuncion, the song was written in response to discovering his wife was having an affair with another man. Recorded by Johnny Astor and his Orchestra in 1946 on the Lirio label - Lirio was the name of Salvador Asuncion's wife. In 1950, this was made as a movie starring Jaime Dela Rosa. Johnny Astor had a cameo appearance in the movie as a radio announcer

    I remembered this song very well in the late 40 and early 50. I was a 1st year HS student in Colegio de San Agustin in Iloilo City. This is also a favorite song of my childhood sweetheart and just before my family emigrated to America in the 1950.
