These effects are laughable. For this list, we’ll be looking at respectable attempts at big screen computer-generated imagery that utterly failed and remained unconvincing. Our countdown includes "The Scorpion King", "Justice League", "The Social Network", “Ghost Rider”, “Green Lantern”, and more! What is the worst instance of CGI that you’ve ever seen? • Honestly, Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider is not terrible CGI.
  • It's kinda hard to fault the CGI in Scooby Doo when the main character is literally a cartoon..

To be fair though Most of these movies were made before CGI actually made a lot of progress. The movies before around 2005 shouldn't have been considered for the list in my opinion.
  • You chose a scene from Spawn and it WASN'T the CGI devil? That thing is the stuff of legends
  • I disagree...Nicholas Cage's transformation into Ghost Rider for the first time looked good and was pretty badass.
  • So we really not gonna talk about the nightmare-inducing CGI baby Renesme in Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn.
  • Should be based on what was actually capable for their time during the judgement on CGI. Basing something that was created in 97 to today's technology is just so lopsided. Spawn was awesome when it came out so as Ghostrider.
  • I actually remember being a kid and thinking the ghost rider CGI was really cool looking. even now I don't think its that bad really to be honest, they did their best for what they had at the time.
  • The cheesy cgi effects in the Scooby Doo movie actually fit the franchise to a tee, and are practically iconic at this point
  • "Simple human faces..." I'm sorry but as a filmmaker, this is really infuriating for me! Human faces are like the hardest thing to pull off, far from simple
  • There was no CGI in Jaws 3D. There was no use of digital effects at that time, outside of things like Tron and Wrath of Khan which only did incredibly simple blocky effects. The objectionable scene in Jaws 3D was optical effects, not digital.
  • I like how Green Lantern was the last time Ryan Reynolds tried to be serious whenever he played a character. Now he's just himself.
  • the bird one literally looks like one of those short films u make in 6th grade😂
  • Honestly, the CGI for Mary Jane and Ghost rider aren't that bad. For MJ, it looks silly and a bit scary which goes with the goofy design of the monsters. For Nick cage, his ghost rider form is just amazing! It can be better BUT it's not ugly. I like it :)

    1. Ghost Rider was good. For the time, what we had and what was soon to come, it was done well. The transformation scene wasn't impressive. Comparing to it now, yeah it looks bad but that's just over critical thinking. 2. Yes, spawns keep seeing look kind of bad. But everything else, especially considering we hadn't had the matrix yet, was done pretty well. In fact it was a lot better than other movies we had at the time. 3. Anaconda 3? Seriously? It was a maid for TV movie, they don't have the technology or the money to make it look movie theater quality. 4. The langoliers was mid-90s made for TV CGI. You're criticizing something that was never intended to be spectacular. This list seems to be comprised of failed attempts from a system or era that was never ment to be spectacular.
  • Whinging about older CGI, but no mention of a 2019 movie called Cats, which puts most of these to shame for terrible CGI.
  • OBJECTION: although Jabba the Hutt was bad cgi, it’s very good for it’s time
