I Looked Inside NORTH KOREA 🇰🇵 (crazy experience!) | Dora Observatory, Paju, Korea Vlog (4K)

Published 2024-02-28
I'll remember this tour to the North Korean border for the rest of my life. North Korea is one of the most restricted countries in the world for travel. It's an isolated state run by a dictator; a significant contrast to South Korea, a prosperous capitalist nation. Politics aside, I had to learn more and get a glimpse inside this intriguing country.

We travelled north from Seoul and first stopped at Gamaksan Suspension Bridge, near Paju (the town closest to North Korea). We learned about the contentious history between North & South Korea by our charismatic tour guide. She explained how the two sides fell into conflict, the Korean War, and how the terrible situation still affects millions of Koreans even in 2024.

Next, we entered the DMZ (demilitarized zone) and went to Dora Observatory, where chillingly I looked inside North Korea towards Pyongyang (the capital of North Korea). I have a strong message about freedom - don't take your situation for granted.

I HIGHLY recommend this DMZ tour; check it out:

2:33 - Gamaksan Suspension Bridge
4:16 - Korean history lesson
4:48 - Paju Peace Park (Dorasan Peace Park)
6:57 - North Korean Currency
8:34 - Officially crossing the DMZ line (south limit line)
9:05 - The Third Tunnel (3rd Tunnel)
10:28 - I looked inside North Korea 😱

What is more, the fence you are showing is not the border. You spread misleading information. North Korea starts almost 2 km further down, where there is another fence, which is the border itself.
