The fact that ww2 weapons are still being used in this war is both scary and ironic.

I've been serving in the French military for 18 years and did many missions in Africa and Afghanistan, I can tell you the FN FNC and the FN FAL are VERY COMMON in Africa. I don't know why but I never encountered rebels with French FAMAS or US M16/M4, but they nearly all used either some sort of AK variant or a FN Belgian assault rifle FAL or FNC... For a small country, Belgium managed to sell their excellent firearms worldwide !

In the Yugoslav war the Bosnian military basically had nothing but my dad got an old PKM with long range optics and he swears on his life that this gun was better than anything else he could have gotten. He could beat some snipers in accuracy at several hundred meters. He would still tell me stories of shooting off caps off of chimneys while his marksman buddies were in awe of the gun's accuracy.

To me the weirdest weapon of the Ukraine war has been weaponized social media.

I bought a PPSH41 awhile ago from a militiaman and he showed me some videos and pictures of him using it during night raids on isis positions in Iraq, truly a terrifying weapon when it comes to CQB

STG coming like “I’ve…returned” And the reason The PPSH is so controllable is just the science behind how they made the muzzle break It’s 3 holes there isn’t one on the bottom so all the gas just goes out the top so when dealing with a gun firing at the rate of “oh dear lord I’m already out of ammo” instead of it rising from recoil it dips down keeping you on target which takes accuracy by volume to a new level

Great video, very informative! I have watched way more combat videos of the conflict than I want to admit, but like you said, its something everyone should learn about and understand. War sucks, I hate it but I would rather understand it than not.

Former Swedish soldier here, the Ak5 series are basically license produced FN FNCs. Can't say a lot of good things about the Ak5C either. It's heavy, it's really sensitive to cold (ironic for a weapon used by the Swedish military) and the plastic magazines used for it didn't fit our standard MOLLE pouches. Though I guess the latter isn't really the weapons' fault.

My grandfather was with the 7th Infantry, 73rd Heavy Tanks during the Korean War. They called the ppsh41 “the burp gun,” and it would turn guys into “Swiss cheese.” He never said anything else about that weapon, but the way he talked about it left me with the impression that it was universally hated.

This is quite possibly the most interesting video of yours I've ever seen, hearing about all of the behind the scenes of the conflict is extremely interesting

Your content creation is so beautiful, these videos are so informative and put together so well, so much content in one video! The dramatic drill edits, music, audio and video quality are fantastic. All of that on top of the little history lessons on calibers and firearms.

Belgium - sends 5k FNCs - gets mentioned. Poland - sends 10k MSBS Grot A2 and a lot of A0 and A1 - no mention. Sad polish noises.

Regarding the AK-12, there are now newer variants of it, called the AK-12SP and AK-12SPK, mostly in use by special forces for now, they have no 2 round burst and the new mlok handguards are now made of aluminium. Basically they went back to zenico-lite setups after realizing the plastic handguards weren't the greatest.
  • Loved this vid. First time I’ve seen your channel. Very laid back, casual, entertaining, and educational. I’m a vet from Texas but I learned a lot from this. Air traffic controllers in the Navy don’t shoot a lot of guns but we did have basic training and got to shoot several firearm systems on the range.

The STG 44 even made a big appearance in the beginning of the Syrian Civil War.

The irony is if they could actually sell those guns in the US they could buy a lot more modern weapons lol
  • dude the format of this image and the lense aperture is insane ... your photo director is so great.
  • Honestly the fact that there was a prop plane that dogfight a drone was crazy enough
